National Instruments Labview and Teststand engineering at Tippman
LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment where one can use sophisticated measurements, test and control systems. It is a platform-based method for measurement and control and can be used across different hardware targets and operating systems.
Labview provides built-in-analysis libraries to help extract useful information from raw data and its appearance and operation imitates physical instruments as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
TestStand is a test management software. Its purpose is to develop, execute, and deploy test system software. TestStand sequences can integrate code modules written in any test programming language. Finally, a production test system software, with an easy-to-use operator interface can be deployed.
It is compatible with LabVIEW, C/C++ DLL, .NET, ActiveX/COM, LabWindows / CVI, HTBasic adapters. It can also run shells scripts.
Another important feature is that TestStand is capable of reporting results in ASCII text, HTML, XML and even in the new ATML standard reporting. Report files are fully customizable and contain station ID, date, time, overall test result at the heading of the file.
